Amendment 4 to BS 7671 was published on 15 April 2026. From 15 October 2026, all new battery storage installations must comply with the updated battery chapter (Chapter 57). Certification schemes expect you to show you are up to date — and the recognised way to prove battery competence is completing the 1–2 day C&G 2923-34 course.
The qualification is a 1–2 day update course (C&G 2923-34), not a full retrain. The same entry requirements also open the door to the Solar PV (2922-34) and EV charging (2921-34) courses — so one check tells you where you stand for all three. Most electricians who qualify don't know they qualify yet. Find out if you do →
